Dylan's First Haircut!

Dylan's first haircut . . .

As you can see, he was in great need of a haircut!

Almost done and looking sharp!

Mommy pulled the "plug" for a photo . . . not a smart move.
The haircut experience went better than expected . . . considering Dylan had his 1 year shots only 30 minutes before he had a haircut (brave or crazy mom, you pick)  he did really well.

Random Photos . . .

Vikings season has started . . surprisingly we are still fans . . .

Drew LOVES anything construction so finding construction worker pajamas was a huge find!

Dalton Threshing!

Peek a boo!

Drew was fascinated by the trains

so after watching them we went on one!

It was a cold and windy day and mommy's attempts at photo shoots were slim to none. Here is one pic of Dylan on a steam engine.

At the Threshing grounds there are many old time buildings (general store, church, school etc.)
The above photo is Drew inside a house that was once his great grandma's.

Dylan inside the schoolhouse. Aunt Amy took the photo above. It is one of my all time favorites of Dylan.

Drew mugging for the camera and Dylan tolerating it!

Drew is in soccer!

Better pics coming . . . mommy hopes.
Drew started playing soccer this fall - it is so much fun watching 3 and 4 year olds play soccer. Week 1's mission: kick the goal in the right net :-)

Being brave in the water

water + sand + shovel = fun!

playing baseball

This photo is great for two reasons. 1) it shows Grandpa relaxing which is a rare sight and 2) Drew took this picture

Dylan's Actual Birthday!

Celebrating Dylan's actual birthday on August 29th

Since I couldn't keep him awake . . . this is Dylan turning exactly 1 year old (at 8:56 pm)

Keeping with our little tradition - it is Dylan's first Build a Bear Outing!
We also went to the shoe store and boat his very first pair of tennis shoes. He was beaming!

oooooohhhhhhh!

Mommy usually is the photographer (and doesn't like her picture taken) but she really likes this photo because it was taken by Drew!

Hip Hip Hooray it's Dylan's Birthday!

Dylan's Birthday Party was held on August 25th at the cabin in Cumberland and it just so happened to also be Rutabaga Festival which we renamed "Dylan Fest" for the weekend.

In keeping with tradition, we started the morning off participating in the Rutabaga 5K Fun Run/Walk. Mommy and Grandpa did the run (well, for Mommy the word run is used loosely) and Daddy, Dylan and Drew did the walk.

After a crueling run/walk we headed to the pancake breakfast - yum!

Dylan and Drew in front of the Rutabaga mascot
(you thought we were joking about Rutabaga days, didn't you?)

Back at the cabin cousin Max showed off his truck driving and rock collecting skills

Max and Dylan playing

After a quick nap back at the cabin, we picked up Max, Whitney, both Grandmas and Aunt Amy and headed back into town for the festivities. Here we are trying to get a cousin photo, no one was too amused with the Rutabaga.

Drew went on a fun train ride and since he sat in the front car he thought he was really driving!

After a second nap (at least for the birthday boy) we began the birthday festivities which started with the all important present opening.

Dylan got so many nice toys and clothes from everyone.

Next is cake time - yum, yum, yum!

Loving the cake!

Once the cake was gone, why not try eating the plate - it had cake on it right?

One very happy birthday boy along with very grateful parents who are blessed to have such amazing boys and wonderful family who came from long distances to celebrate!
